New and Upcoming Cars in the UAE: Models to Watch in 2026–2027

The UAE car market is preparing for another bumper year of new SUVs, electric and hybrid vehicles, with more options becoming available to customers both locally and internationally. Several brands are revealing new cars for sale in the UAE while the models being launched in 2026 are expected to retain a high level of popularity into 2027.

For those wondering what to expect among the upcoming cars in the UAE in 2027, the Audi Q9 is the most clearly confirmed launch, while the Nissan Tekton is another model to keep an eye out for. As well as being confirmed for sale in 2027, the new BMW X5 and Cadillac VISTIQ show how quickly premium and electric cars are progressing in the UAE market.

Below is a look at a few of the key models that are worth knowing about.

1. Audi Q9 - Ready to Arrive in 2027 in UAE

The Audi Q9 is among the most significant cars confirmed to launch in the UAE, with the car maker listing the flagship SUV as "Coming 2027" on its local website and already taking customer expressions of interest.

The all-new model will slot in as the flagship model in the company's Q range of all-wheel-drive crossovers and SUVs.

Audi states luggage capacity can reach 2,308 litres in the seven-seat model and maximum output ranges as high as 320 kW, allowing for 0-100 km/h acceleration in as little as 4.9 seconds.

The flagship SUV will be of particular interest to UAE families thanks to its practicality and luxury features. Audi has yet to publish an official starting price for the new Q9 on the model's website, so buyers should wait for local pricing and final specifications.

2. Nissan Tekton - Important New SUVs for 2027

The Nissan Tekton is another key model to look forward to arriving in the UAE market over the next year. Nissan Middle East and Nissan Dubai have already opened sign-up interest pages for the vehicle which is described on the manufacturer's official website as coming soon.

There is no official confirmation yet from Nissan about when it will arrive, what engines it will use or even how much it will cost. This means figures circulating online now should be approached with caution until Nissan shares the necessary details.

The all-new model will be popular with drivers who want a relatively large SUV with up-to-date driving technology and comfortable interior for the whole family. The vehicle should be relevant for customers across the Gulf states thanks to its size and use case.

3. 2027 Cadillac VISTIQ - Leading Electric Luxury SUV

The Cadillac VISTIQ is an example of the expanding line-up of premium electric SUVs available on the market in the next couple of years. The American vehicle maker has listed a 2027 VISTIQ on its global site while the model has already arrived in the Middle East thanks to a 2026 launch.

The VISTIQ is powered by two motors using a 400 kW all-wheel-drive system with a maximum combined output of 615 hp (horsepower) in the manufacturer's Velocity Max mode. An official states the vehicle has a standardised testing range of 482 km along with an unadjusted, certifiable range of 701 km under different testing conditions.

The vehicle offers seating for seven, a large touchscreen cabin and a large electric powertrain which make it ideal for potential UAE customers to consider.

4. GAC GS7 PHEV - Plug-in Hybrid SUV

Another vehicle of interest is the GAC GS7 PHEV. As a model that isn't technically an "upcoming 2027" vehicle because the model's launch was already announced by the UAE dealer in September 2026.

Gargash GAC Motor lists the SUV from AED 159,900 with an output of 501 hp, 36.3 kWh battery and claimed combined range of up to 1,020 km under the CLTC testing cycle, thanks to a smart all-wheel-drive system.

Its plug-in hybrid technology means the vehicle will appeal to those who want the flexibility of a petrol engine but an electric drive support in their new SUV. Long-range travel is also made easier by the claimed 1,020 km combined range (although this is based on the Chinese CLTC testing method, so the figure isn't definitive).

5. BMW X5 – New X5 to Lead the Line for 2027

The new BMW X5 is another vehicle worth looking out for in 2027 for the significant level of interest it already generates. It is however not yet officially listed for sale in the UAE and is not expected to make its UAE market debut before the third quarter of 2026.

The X5 40 xDrive is already listed with 400 hp, while the plug-in hybrid 50e xDrive produces a combined 490 hp and 102 km of WLTP electric range on provisional figures. BMW expects to make the 50e xDrive available for order from 8 October 2026.

The flagship X5 will continue to be a top competitor for UAE residents wanting a premium high-capacity SUV during 2027, whether for petrol or plug-in hybrid versions.

UAE Car Buyers & New Vehicles in 2027

Overall, the biggest trend in the UAE new car market in 2027 will be a wide choice of petrol, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and all-electric SUV models.

Premium manufacturers will expand their EV range options with larger family-focused models, while Chinese brands such as GAC will bring more advanced hybrid technology to the region.

It will be particularly interesting to see what the official UAE market-specific launch dates and prices will be in the lead up to 2027. Because of the length of the model cycle, the specifications in the UAE may be different from other markets.
